Sands Mulholland is an independent furniture design company specializing in one-of-a-kind, hand-crafted creations.

Inspired by the works of Charles and Ray Eames, Hans Wegner, Finn Juhl and others, Sands Mulholland imbues each piece with the organic, sculptural qualities of mid-century modern design and elegant simplicity for a truly modern appeal.

Working primarily in wood, each piece is individually designed, assembled and finished by hand, so even multiples of a single design each exhibit their own unique idiosyncrasies and character.

Pamela Hilborn

Pamela is the brains behind Sands Mulholland. Unencumbered by trivial technicalities and manufacturing limitations, Pamela is free to focus on the overall look and feel of our collection, constantly looking for ways to improve and refine each piece. If it doesn’t make it past Pamela’s keen eye, it doesn’t see the light of day.

 

 

 

Tim Bickert

Tim takes up the slack wherever Pamela leaves off, typically sketching, sawing, planing, assembling, finishing, cursing and generally making a colossal mess.

Largely self-taught, with a brief stint at UC Berkeley’s Furniture Design and Fabrication program, Tim draws on the classics while exploring new techniques and materials to achieve positively unique pieces unrivaled in the marketplace.
